Why do we need to know how to use numbers?

Learning Objectives/Student Outcomes: 

Students will learn how to use numbers to represent a set.

Key Topics: 

Number sense and operations


Prior to instruction, the teacher needs to make sets of number cards from 0-10 and have counters available. 

Learning Experiences and Activities: 

In this lesson, the teacher will demonstrate drawing a number, then writing that number, and counting that many objects. 


The students will draw a number, write that number and count that many objects. Then take a picture of their set.
